Guyo was a recent exploration with a potential identity for my personal freelance work. The name is based off the Spanish word, "Gallo", pronounced "guy-o". In Spanish, the double "L" makes a "Y" sound. The original word means "rooster" which roots in a personal joke between me and my dad, who is from Mexico. The idea of basing a design co. name off of a joke would play into the type of humorous, bold and fun work I enjoy creating. In the end I decided not to use it for now, but the practice helped me discover a style and feel I love and identify with.
